As promised in our original article we would provide any updates as we have them available.
In a letter sent to the Toms River Country Club’s Membership, management categorically denies any sale.
Letter:
Dear Members,
A rumor has been circulating on social media in the last 24 hours that the Toms River Country Club has been sold. We can state with absolute certainty that this rumor is false and absolutely unfounded. We do not want to speculate on the source of this information, but we will seek to have any reference to the Club’s sale removed immediately.
Thank you,
Debra Burr, President
John Gallaher, Vice President
They said the same thing about the RT 70 flea market months ago, even when certain people were already celebrating. I believe in a few months, we will be hearing the same rumor only this time it will be true.
Barbara Heimall so very true.. flea market denied denied denied but all they were doing was lying lying lying.. they know that if it gets out they will lose so much money before the deal goes through.. I hope the members are smarter and start looking to leave them sooner than later
Usually some truth in rumors especially when it involves property in Ocean County…
Barbara Heimall
The flea market denied it to the end, and called us liars! Now they’ll be townhomes there next year! ?
Ocean County Scanner News and so will the golf course soon enough..
Ocean County Scanner News I told you so about the flea market
I didn’t even need to waste my time earlier battling trolls.
Robin Boggiano
Meghan DeStefano Ciniglio , OMG. Ya know, all I did was post that I heard from a good source and apparently, that source was not a good one.
Robin Boggiano lol well I saw it numerous places including ocean county scanner news! You weren’t the only one that heard it
Meghan DeStefano Ciniglio , thank God!
Robin Boggiano yea people were up in arms about it on the scanner news page!
La Bove Grande wasn’t sold either according to the owner Jerry…Guess What…SOLD!
We heard rumors that Ice Palace in Brick wasn’t sold neither was the old Jack Lalanes, turns out both were sold and to Hasidics, got to wonder what that’s all about! If it’s true, the once revered name of Dwulet will be nothing but mud.
George Worthington The ice palace was sold to the Hasidic‘s now??
Patrick the Ice Palace AND the old Jack LaLanes next to it were sold to the Orthodox Jews, God knows what they are going to do with the property, I think getting their foot into that neighborhood by the Palace!
1,000 new townhomes coming soon.
Part of the “deal” when doing business with Gods supposedly Chosen is non-disclosure…They are a sneaky bunch..But worse are the “friends” and “neighbors” we’ve had all our lives who, for a good price, are lying to our faces and selling out…
Cindy King looks like the sellouts are the sneaky bunch. Some Neighbors you got, all they care about is $$$
Paul Rappaport I agree…What’s even better is when Lakewoods finest buy a business and then have someone keep running it…Until they can get the zoning changed to do with it as they please
I remember when the flea market on 70 wasn’t gonna be condos either
Kevin Karlick, it’s not worth the effort, as people like to chime in on subjects without having any facts to support them. As stated in a previous post, it has been confirmed (from public tax records) that there has been no change of ownership, or any documents filed to change any ownership. Cranmoor Country Club LLC has owned this since 1983, and continues to have ownership of the 67 acres we know as the Toms River Country Club. In addition, the Bond holders would have to approve a sale. The membership/Bond holders have not even been approached with such a scenario. I understand the hysteria, but this is simply an unsubstantiated rumor – nothing more.
John Gallaher
We all hope you guys stay put!
I’ve worked at numerous upscale private clubs (Due Process, Metedeconk, Pine Barrens) but most of my time has been at TRCC, nearly 20 years total, and NOTHING compares to TRCC condition wise, in my opinion and has had one of the most knowledgeable superintendents in the industry keeping it green for the last 30+ years. My apologies if I got a little out of pocket for a minute but when I first saw this posted, the thing that stood out the most was the blatant antisemitism, which unfortunately seems to be a common theme in most of your threads.
Also, the golf course (minus the 1st hole fronting Washington St.) is considered a natural form of runoff protection for surrounding neighborhoods. No houses will ever be built on the riverfront of 419 Washington St. regardless of who owns it. So, it’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
Agree with you completely, and the Membership appreciates all of the work that goes into keeping TRCC as beautiful as it is.
Kevin Karlick Antisemitism? Please, knock it off with that shit.
They know there selling!!! I inquired about a membership two weeks ago and haven’t heard from them… if they take my money now that would be illegal.. why wouldn’t they want my money….. because they’re selling but don’t want to say it yet!!!
Joe Griscavage it’s they’re
Joe Griscavage EEEEEXACTLY
I worked in Robin Hood Inn on Valley Road in Clifton…One day we heard “A group of Italians bought place”, I was in High School at the time sonI asked the restaurant manager Steve if the rumors were true because if they were I’d have to start looking for a new job to get the X amount of hrs per week I needed…Steve ASSURED ME 100% the restaurant was not sold, and never will be, and to go about business as usual, no need to panic and go crazy looking for another job…Well about 6 days later, the group of Italians took over the place, closed it, renovated it, and now it’s The Valley Regency…They got rid of pretty much everyone in the Ala’Carte dining room…So don’t trust management, rumors usually are true if you’re hearing it from multiple sources
Yet
Run away while you can ?????
Of course they do not want to divulge the sale
Yeah and the route 70 flea market denied being sold for years. Don’t believe anything the business puts out. They just fear loss of business and will lie until the day the moving trucks show up.
