Ronald Jakubowski, 50, of Toms River (who has a history of similar charges) was arrested was arrested and charged with a fourth degree harassment violation Tuesday for attempting to lure a 15-year-old girl into his pick-up truck. . He was later released pending a future court date.

  The incident allegedly happened in the area of 6th Street and Madison Avenue. The perpetrator “made some harassing comments with the purpose to cause alarm and for self gratification,” police said. Patrol Officer Sherry Jones spotted a truck that matched the victim’s description and pulled it over in the CVS parking lot on River Avenue, police said.

  Last year, the suspect was charged with making lewd gestures to a 10-year-old girl in the back seat of a car he was driving alongside. Four years earlier, he was accused of exposing himself to young girls in a grocery store.

According to State Police records, Jakubowski is classified as a Tier 2 Repetitive Compulsive sex offender. He was convicted in 2008 of endangering the welfare of a child after he exposed himself to 10 and 11-year-old girls. He was then convicted again in 2015 of endangering the welfare of a child for exposing himself to a 7-year-old girl.
