LAKEWOOD – The photo has been shared thousands of times – a woman walking a group of children to a van. The story behind the photo – the real story – not so much.
What most people know is that someone witnessed a group of kids attacking geese in the industrial park in Lakewood. After the picture was posted on Facebook, it has taken on a life of its own. People made all sorts of assumptions about the people in the photo, as well as the person taking the photo.
The photographer spoke to JerseyShoreOnline to explain that this was not an isolated incident, and that hopefully the geese are now safe. She chose not to use her name because it has spread through social media enough, and that she doesn’t want her employer to be involved.
The building where she works overlooks a lake, which is home to a family of geese. The incidents took place over the course of a week, starting May 13.
If you don’t mess with them they won’t attack you
If there was a name credited along with the photo it would be more creditable. That is the problem with social media, folks can post anything, with no facts and everyone goes crazy. Let the investigation play out before we judge what really happened. Just saying. Again not defending anyone but, the Police did get the the guy of Indian Head Rd running the geese over.
The original post was posted by the picture taker. And since that party posted the picture they have had to deal with harassment so I’m sure at this point they want their name left out of it.
The geese have every right to protect themselves. I hope the next offender gets their eyes rip out by the geese

It’s this simple, leave the geese alone and don’t give them any reason to have to defend themselves. They’re geese for crying out loud.

Good lord, how people distort Judaism! Sending the mom away basically referring to shooing chickens when you take eggs so the mother is not upset. It is about raising birds for eggs. You know, like the ones you buy in shop rite. I don’t know how many people raise geese for eggs, but that has nothing to do about anything in this situation.
They had no right disrupting those geese.

Well, another miscommunication. This time a religious practice, there will never be justice. Lakewood just makes things up and gets away with anything they want. Biggest B.S. that could be. I would be ashamed to even quote such nonsense in an article. Utter crap. Had this Not been a “special gang”, oh how things would be different.
When I worked at the ocean county animal shelter, Hasidic Jews would come in with their children just to show them how disgusting animals are.
We would tell them to leave. I’ve seen enough abused animals by their hands on top of it.
So religious beliefs Trump law. Oh wait..only for the Jews..got it..now I understand..I just realized my religion says I don’t have to pay my taxes anymore…so I guess thats how I will live..this woman who reported it did the right thing..
