PD are responding to the 400 block of Alpine Street for a child running in and out of traffic. Mother called 911 staying she is unable to get him to come to her.
Update: BLS & Medics being requested to respond for an unknown medical emergency.

My comment is gone lol. Like I said he could be on the spectrum like my sons. Some kids with Autism will impulsively bolt on you. Mine did it when they were much younger. It’s scary.

Renee Mascitelli Apparently bringing up that the child could’ve been on the spectrum, is viewed as a negative comment. When I replied to somebody who mentioned that he could’ve been on the spectrum, another person then responded to me saying “please no negative comments”, when all I said was yes, that some autistic individuals are runners. How that is negative is beyond me.
Pamela Leigh Wesnitzer I have no idea how that is negative either. My twins were like that when they were younger with eloping. I had to have them wear those stuffed animal book bag harness things to keep them safe whenever we were outside. Which by the way I used to get judgemental looks for.
Renee Mascitelli I understand exactly what you’re saying about your sons. I am a paraprofessional working with autistic middle schoolers and once in awhile we have students who are runners. We as educators who work with special needs students, must be vigilant in and out of school when we’re with our students. We just went on a field trip today to Cattus Island, and we stuck to our students like glue. It’s what we do to keep them safe. I’ve found that some ppl on these sites, will make a negative about just anything because they’re looking for a fight from atop of their soapbox. I frankly have no time for their nonsense. I hope all is well for you and your twins, I know it’s not easy, but you sound like a great mom!

Colleen O’Day Rozzi thank God! Heard ambulance and feared the worst. Hope he gets the correct diagnosis, meds and help. Special needs kids can and do grow into amazing adults I know my son is one
