Joseph Clappsy Sr. Unfortunately their is limited help. They did however just start a program called blue heart. Where anyone who wants help can walk into a police station or hospital and they will get a bed in a program. They have just begun to expand services available for addicts.

Patrick Brennan we may not understand how addiction works or how the addict got to where they are, but I do feel we can show empathy for the problem. Under the addiction is a real person with a real family who struggles daily with their family members addiction. It’s a painful situation for all involved.
Unfortunately I do understand it and have lived it first hand. I lost my daughter to a heroin overdose Jan 8 2019. I could write a book on why she self medicated but it won’t change a thing.. she will still be gone.

Patrick Brennan come down off your horse. You don’t have a clue. My husband was a substance abuse counselor and I was a therapeutic assistant. I ran woman’s groups. It did nothing to save my child. They don’t wake up and say “geez I guess I will become a junkie today”.
You’re not better or above anyone else. Addiction strikes where it will, including those with your smug attitude.

Patrick Brennan your ignorance on the subject is showing in your comments. You quite clearly have no clue. Addiction is an entire process and a lengthy process to get to heroin. The heroin is cheap. But it doesn’t ever just start with heroin.

Low funding. When these junkies as you refer to them seek help they need help then not 6 months from now or call is tomorrow and check to see if we have an opening. You cannot just stop using it. The sickness it causes is to bad and that alone can cause death.
But again you need empathy to understand what I am saying.
Patrick Brennan SMFH right back at you. One of those junkies was my daughter. I know first hand how hard she tried to get help. Help meant a bus trip of 1 hour to get Sobixin wait 2 hours for a return 1 hour bus trip home. Every single day. Her journey started at 5 am to be there on time as they only had a small window. Her addiction was started and fed by doctors pushing pain meds. Then one day they stop and say suck it up. They can’t. So then she moved to buying them from a dealer, then she couldn’t afford it so the dealer was more than happy to give her a free sample of heroin. Cheaper and so easy to get. In Jan 8th she was given a bag laced with fentenal and it killed her. She as a beautiful young woman with a family that tried everything to help her and a system that didn’t. Your comments are insulting, rude and just plain ignorant.
