Toms River. Around 6:57 pm tonight PD & EMS were requested to respond to the 600 Block of Dunedin Street for a reported shooting. Upon arrival the victim was found to be DOA (10-29) from a self inflicted gunshot wound. At that time, OCSD & CSI were requested to the scene as well as the Medical Examiner. Further Details will be released as they become available.

Imagine living in a brain that you believe that all the beauty in the world means nothing? Before considering suicide; consider all other options.. leave where you are, leave the people or person causing you pain, do everything in your power to see something beautiful and it truly doesn’t even need to be far away. Find a place to sit and find peace. There are very very few reasons I can understand wanting to end your life over and if this be it then rest in peace to a troubled soul. I feel sorry that no one was able to help. Anyone else considering suicide as an option, that’s reading this. Hard to exhaust all options before suicide when you’re exhausted from merely breathing and just getting out of bed in the morning is a chore. True depression, not a situational issue or intense sadness, is a hopeless, gut-wrenching feeling that literally eats you alive. You truly feel that the best thing you can do for your loved ones is to disappear forever. And no matter how much people talk about suicide awareness and compassion for those who are sick, at the end of the day mental health carries such a negative stigma as if its stilll such a moral failing, like we dont want to try to be happy… and people suffering wouldn’t want to burden anyone else with their problems so 99% of the time we dont open up about the truth, we just grin and bear it. And to say there are very few reasons you could see for someone to end their life over is kinda degrading and pretty shitty IMO. People with depression and mental health issues can have fufilling lives and sucessful careers, happy families and picture perfect lives- but on the inside, when your brain has you convinced that the world is better off without you- all the positive thinking, beautiful places and supportive family members dont mean crap when you’re in the thick of it… if it was that simple to get rise up from depression/suicidal thoughts, as if its just a funk you’ve fallen into for a few days cause your bf broke up with you, then there would be no suicide, no therapists, no medications, no crisis helplines, no impatient centers…. like Jamie Bonavita Goodman said, its just not that easy…..
