Is this a real problem?
Ocean County Scanner News no idk I was just messing around
Ocean County Scanner News yes
Ocean County Scanner News this is definitely a real problem only a handful of tow companies are permitted to tow on the GSP but smaller companies & ones just driving by try to bend the rules & laws & do as they please
The state and parkway require parkway tow companies to maintain extra insurance and have requirements for equipment and training. It’s dangerous on the side of the parkway. Non contracted towing companies poaching calls can be a problem when companies need every call they can get to stay afloat. Also, these companies have to turn down other work as they have contractual obligations and minimal response times to abide by. So losing one call to a tower not on the contract technically loses the contracted company two calls, the one that got poached and the one that they turned down to take the parkway call.
Tuminos Towing isn’t that you territory
Any towing on TP or GSP always had to be authorized and display the appropriate decals.
Doug Hynoski exactly and the fees are astronomical!! They know you have no option and they take full advantage and rob ppl
Robin Lee the fees and rates are parkway/state controlled. Not up to the tow company. Nice try though.
Joe Nicholson didn’t say it was up to the towing company anywhere in my comment…I just said the rates charged for the company’s that are authorized are ridiculous…and fyi have to friends that work for 2 authorized to tow companies and they make a pretty penny out of that “pkwy/state” controlled rate…so nice try on your part too
Never heard of this before
