On March 12th, 2019 Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Squad along with the United States Homeland Security Investigations and the Ocean Township Police Department executed a search warrant for a residence in Waretown.

The suspect, Sean Lutrell, age 44 from Waretown was suspected of possessing and transmitting child pornography according to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

When the search warrant was executed Detectives observed a quantity of marijuana and were able to telephonically obtain a search warrant fro additional narcotics evidence.

The further search proved to find additional items infused with THC including THC Suppositories, 50 grams of marijuana, a scale and a food processor that had been used to grind the marijuana. At the same time Computers, digital items, other narcotics, 11 firearms and $2653.00 in cash were seized.

A forensic examination of the seized computer, and digital items revealed that Lutrell was searching for and viewing images of child pornography. On March 21st, 2019 Lutrell surrendered to Ocean Township Police and was transported to the Ocean County Jail. Lutrell is currently lodged in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.

  • Possession of more than Fifty Grams of Marijuana [N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(3)]

Sandra Lutrell (44 of Waretown) was charged with:

  • Possession of More Than Fifty Grams of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute [N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(11)]

  • Possession of more than Fifty Grams of Marijuana [N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(3)]
