**Incident report**
This afternoon approx around 1pm Barnegat Station 11, Stafford Station 47, and Barnegat Squad 11 were dispatched to the Atlantic heights apartments for the report of a structure fire. Both Chiefs 1100 and Assistant Chief 1110 were responding to the report when 1110 reported he had a smoke column visible and requested Waretown Station 36 dispatched to the scene to assisted due to the location and it being an apartment complex. Assistant Chief 1110 arrived on scene and reported a working fire on the alpha side of the building moving towards the attic. Ladder 1115 was the first arriving apparatus, crews went immediately to stretching hand lines to extinguish the fire and search the neighboring apartments to ensure all residences were out. While Ladder 1115’s crew prepaid to make entry, Tanker-Engine 1101 arrived on scene and used their Deck gun to provide a quick large amount of water to help knock down the flames for advancing crews. Also 1101 secured a water supply. Recuse-Engine 1103, Stafford’s Ladder 4715 and Engine 4721, Waretown Engine 3601 and Engine-tanker 3641 assisted with manpower to check additional apartments for possible fire spread and confirm all parties were evacuated. Stafford’s Ladder 4725 was also set up to provide support on the Delta side.
The fire was extinguished and apartments overhauled to ensure no further danger still existed. 2 Firefighters were transported to the Hospital after being Injured on scene, and are expected to make a fully recovery. Additional thank you to Barnegat First aid and Waretown first aid for transporting the 2 firemen and Stafford Ems for provide their Rehab truck. Also to Forked River fire company Station 60 for providing coverage for the town while we were out.
Scene was turned over to the Ocean County Fire Marshals and Barnegat Pd for investigation.
Additional units include Fire police 1104 and 1127. Along with Ladies aux 1107. Ocean county fire coordinator car 15.

Well at least no residents were injured. When I lived there we were required to have a large renters insurance policy so thankfully they will be able to replace all their personal property shortly. Hopefully the property manager already has them set up in vacant units. These people will need a little help with clothing ect for a week or two until the insurance pays out. So sad!
