Yet most of the people in that room will head to the bar to pound a few drink afterwards to discuss why the ban should continue…
If it’s legal to buy/sell/grow, how is it legal to ban it because you don’t like it?
Michael Gibson Its not so much banning the act of buy/sell/grow, just the location. So the state can say yes to legalizing recreationally, but the town can say no to a dispensary. As far as I understand, one will be put in Lakewood anyway.
Michael Gibson and the funny thing is. Everyone from brick will go there to buy. And now Lakewood is receiving the tax benefits while brick will not. It’s in their town anyways!
Kay Sie Lynn what’s next? Bars, liquor stores, anyplace that would sell guns, planned parenthood.
Josh Pecoraro you nailed it. Oh yeah….look at all the people who are ODing on the scanner page. NOT 1 FOR POT. ill informed hypocrites.
Michael Gibson just look at alcohol in Ocean City NJ. That’s the model. Dry town. Cannot have a bar or liquor store… Sure can drink beer in your house though
Kay Sie Lynn imminent domain. Shit Bayville voted against the DYFS office. Three years later it went in anyway
WHO CARES!!!!!!!!
Idiots
Prolly paid lobbyist
As half of Brick is OD’ing on opiates daily. They really have a lot of nerve
Open another bar in brick drunks all the time idiots worried about pot
I recognize that courtroom
Been in that courtroom many times for weed before ???
There’s a lot of it in here tonight, if the smell is any indication. ?
The Governor moved a step closer to legalizing it today. So it will be legal in the entire state but Brick. That makes sense! Yet Brick has a huge opiate and heroin addiction problem.
Neily Hoops don’t forget the alcoholics and all the bars
Neily Hoops so we should add another drug into the mix?
Charles Collins it’s not a drug. Read a book! Start with one with pics and work up to real words!
Charles Collins well it is there already, sooo we should waste the police’s time arresting people. Then waste the tax payer’s money or feeding, housing and clothing them in jail?
And…. I’ll say it again…
No to medical marijuana YET there are so many methadone patients in Brick, they just moved to a bigger building on Brick Blvd.
Drive by there and then go visit a dispensary. Everything is ass backwards in this town.
Brick HS can’t even afford books for a small class. Couldn’t procure a single Lord of The Flies book for the kids.
Town could utilize tax $. $ spent here from out of towners visiting the dispensary.
Visit ONE dispensary in another town before voting NO. It is nothing like you think it’s is.
Charles Collins been watching reefer madness again?
Sharon Lynn Huber well said
How many bar/liquor stores in brick?
Sharon Lynn Huber Exactly. Go visit one. Great advice. ?
Neily Hoops actually a lot of towns have already banned it locally. Brick was one of the last to make the decision.
Neily Hoops Yep….yet the junkies overdosing by shooting heroin into their veins overdose and die on street corners, get brought back with Narcan and get no repercussions for overdosing or even having heroin on them….ass backwards!!!
It’s getting banned time to move on
Charles Collins till Trenton allows it
Scott A Barnes not in brick
Scott A Barnes not in brick
Brick does override a state allowance like brick will secede. When it is legal, brick’s mayor will cow tow and have no choice or face massive lawsuits. All he can legally do is block a dispensary unless….. it is state run facility. Then mayor mcfearmonger can cry all day long
Scott A Barnes that’s not true the sale is banned in the town
Scott A Barnes that’s not true the sale is banned in the town
Scott A Barnes sale and cultivation banned
No worries… there are other towns.
When the state makes it legal. The towns have to make it so. Guess the town of brick wants headlines instead of ….of…what good happens in brick?
Scott A Barnes not true. Ocean City is dry, alcohol is legal.
Marc Colasanto different
Scott A Barnes zero difference.
Marc Colasanto between an herb that helps with add, adhd, anxiety disorders ,sleep disorders and don’t forget kill all but TEO types of cancer cells to a liquid that kills thousands probably millions a year. Btw not ONE death is us history directly related to weed. So. There is a difference. Research and knowledge vs what a non expert says
It’s ok to have a methadone clinic in Brick tho!
Damian Arduino yes
Damian Arduino as long as they stay in treatment..
I agree with the mayor. There will not be financial gain for public schools from dispensaries. There is EMPIRICAL data that shows the significant issues weed contributes to. The brain doesn’t stop developing until 25 so that shows what will happen to the youth. It is addictive. It is a drug. We don’t need more drugs. And it’s a shame so many are ok with the legalization. And looking at data about the “opioid epidemic” should have people question their political leaders and agendas more than anything.
I heard a guy once smoked a marijuana and then bought a Sublime shirt.

Ocean County Scanner News bet they wont start getting rid of bars and banning alcohol anytime soon tho…pretty ridiculous
Banned in brick, next banned in nj, call the governor hourly.
