BREAKING NEWS: 385 Adamston LLC, aka Jersey Shore Therapeutic Health Care has pulled their request for a zoning adjustment needed to build a dispensary in Brick, NJ and instead have opted to cultivate and manufacture marijuana on the same location which is a permitted agricultural use according to 385 Adamston, LLC’s legal council..
Under separate cover they are submitting a revised site plan to the Planning Board with any and all fees and escrows required. The former bank structure will be used strictly as offices for their farming operation according to the Certified Letter sent by Davison, Eastman, Munoz, Lederman and Paone P.A. to the Brick Township Zoning Board.
The State requires that all marijuana related uses to obtain local approval first, so the Brick Township Planning Board will be required to approve or deny the use before the State of New Jersey has a chance to approve or deny the operation.
This is neither Customary or Conventional farming
Stacey Churpakovich Collins that is like saying the founding fathers didnt mean semi auto firearms. Weed has been grown for centuries by man. Only in recent has it been demonized for political and socio control. Tell me why weed was outlawed. Spoiler alert! Your about to look foolish.
Jay Johnson I am not engaging in your incoherent speach or discussions…
Do your research, read the zoning and land use laws in Brick
Stacey Churpakovich Collins yes we are a family town. I heard the mayor. Having summer fest sponsored by beer. And a liquor store ever half mile with tatoo and vape shops next to a school. This town is corrupt to its core. If they were to get 10% of the gross in tax. They would cut down all the trees in dingy land and turn them and fertilizer for the weed plants. The location is bad for this business. But putting a ban on all marijuana reguardless of state law is tyranny not Democracy. Put it to a vote in brick. Recreational home grow will will in a land slide.
A “farm” under bricks zoning law is A parcel of land, five acres or larger in size, which is used principally in the raising or production of agricultural products. In 2018, Hemp was removed from the Federal Controlled Substances Act and legalizes hemp cultivation as an agricultural commodity similar to grain, meat, and dairy
Gary George Glatt you may want to read the entire bill it does not apply to this situation
I already read it
Gary George Glatt then reread the part regarding farming more specifically farmers and why the bill was created to protect them
It’s for hemp only, not marijuana which are the same plant and that’s on a federal level. NJ State Agricultural Department Committee recognizes marijuana to be an agriculture crop and is legal to grow in farms in NJ as long at they aren’t funded by the federal government
Im curious to know why you are so against the location?
Gary George Glatt against which part or all of it?
Are you against it completely? Or just the location? Because you only seem to bring up land use and residential zoning laws. And you talk about how the owner should have bought commercial property instead.
Gary George Glatt I am completely 100% fine with MM but not at this location
Then why
Gary George Glatt then why what?
Why are you against the location?
Gary George Glatt because a Cultivation Center poses grave dangers to the surrounding neighborhood, houses and residents.
The state has not awarded a single license to a Dispensary or cultivation center in a residential area and that is for a reason
There are liquor stores on every corner in all towns. Do they pose grave danger to the public in your eyes??
Tom DeFeo Jr. The last time I checked I do not have a liquor store in the middle of my neighborhood not does a liquor store pose the same risk as a Dispensary and 48,000sq ft cultivation center in a neighborhood
Stacey Churpakovich Collins There is even brewery places in residential areas. Why do so many people have this double standard with weed when it poses way way less danger than alcohol
Tom DeFeo Jr. What brewery is in the middle of a residential neighborhood in Brick and zoned not for it?
I am all for MM but not in this location. There is a reason the state has not awarded a license of any kind regarding MM in a residential neighborhood
I didn’t say brick. I said residential areas. Where i live a short car ride south of brick there is a brewery right in residential area actually about 1/4 mile from Grammer school and daycare school. My point is something as dangerous as alcohol can be made and sold but when it comes to weed everyone gets all bent. Both can be made and sold responsibly no matter where its at.
Tom DeFeo Jr. There are safety concerns that come along with a Dispensary and Cultivation Center that a Liquor Store/Bar does not have.
You seem to be missing my point, its not that I am saying MM is worse than Liquor or vice versa it is that operation does not belong in the middle of a residential neighborhood.
And are you referring to a brewery in TR?
growing plants is really a non issue, if they aren’t dispensing it there you really have nothing to complain about
Stacey Churpakovich Collins your argument gets more ignorant ever post. Exponentially!
Is there lead in bricks water on adamsten rd. You all seen brain damaged
Wonder how the Federal Wildlife refuge which abuts it feels about that? If there’s ever a fire or it seeps in to the ground our refuge is destroyed as is Barnegat bay, as are all the homes near it. Selfish owners who have never cared about the residents.
Susan Christina exactly not from day 1
Susan Christina if what seeps onto the ground?
Jay Johnson marijuana
Would also like to see how fire trucks would be able to access it behind the bank building
Susan Christina I believe there idea was to access it from the VFW Lot wasnt it?
Makes a ton of sense LOL
Stacey Churpakovich Collins hmm do you think they’d allow that? I’d think no. They have senior service there during day. Very crowded
Susan Christina 10000% agree
Susan Christina Reefer madness. What is seeping into the ground? The boogeyman?
Danny Haze all the hazardous chemicals used in growing and processing, fertilizer, pesticides, fungicides, solvents, etc.
Bruce Bayer like all the shit everyone sprays on their lawns every week????
MJ grow places are supposed to use organic pesticides that they use in food. So I don’t see it being some huge problem
LOL at marijuana seeping into the ground. what the fuck are you confused about? It’s a plant that grows naturally there’s no radioactive slime or chemicals to seep into anything
You’re the ones who are confused! It would deep in to our water shed
Susan Christina ?????? They don’t grow in soil, and the only thing to seep into the water shed is organic nutrients if there was even a way for it to. You need to get your head out of the sand. There would be 0 issues whatsoever and you’re just incredibly ignorant to the facts
Must say some of the responses are comical. Maybe do some research before making yourself look like fools. Im talk8ng about the people stating hazardous waste lmaooooooooooo
Susan Christina this is the dumbest shit I have ever read on fb. What do you think is in a plant that at one time grew wild all over ever continent on this planet. That fed and nourished every animal on the planet. You seem like have no information of the history of gods plant and have been misinformed to the point of seeming retarded. If you are a totally mentally retarded I apologize.
Susan Christina you are the dumbest person alive today
Susan Christina this is the dumbing down of society. To lazy to read anything about a subject. Just keep posting stupidity
Doesn’t matter what you stoners think. We will do everything to prevent it happening in our neighborhood
Bruce Bayer Ban all farming I guess. And stop brining the roads. When it goes legal hopefully Brick gets cut out of any tax benefits. Gotta stop listening to that moron Mayor of Pt Pleasant Beach (he lives in Brick…coincidencem?.) He’s paid to lie while playing mayor.
Susan Christina
hope you never are diagnosed with something that you would benefit from marijuana and have to drive far away just to obtain it.
Karen Ward Mahon this has ZERO to do with medical marijuana. They won’t be selling it there, if it goes through, so you’re still going to drive.
Susan Christina Exactly this does not help Patient Access which I thought was paramount for the applicants ?♀️- increasing access to MM Patients in Ocean and Monmouth Counties
Stacey Churpakovich Collins yes it was supposed to be all about compassion. Now it’s all about $$$$$&
Bruce Bayer you sound so stupid.
Actually it is conventional farming. Therefore it would be more appropriate for an R-R-1 zone than the bank was
Gary George Glatt its unfortunately not considered conventional which is why she needed the D1 variance ?
Also the Mayor has me tiomed multiple times there is not zoning anywhere in the town that allows this which is why the applicants needed the variance.
If this was that easy she would have done this along time ago…
The applicants needed the variance for the dispensary. And they will also need one to turn the bank into the office. I don’t know if you saw it somewhere else but this article doesn’t say anything about a variance to grow marijuana
No the mayor has stated several times there is not an area in town that is zoned for cultivation, dispensing etc.
Hopefully they can find an appropriate location move it and help the patients that need it and they promised to help
Gary George Glatt perhaps whomever wrote the article has not heard the Mayors repeated comments on this
Stacey Churpakovich Collins after all it was originally supposed to be for the patients. If they truly were compassionate they would have purchased property in a commercial zone.
Susan Christina well said, this has been going on for over a year – hopefully she can move this to an appropriate location and help the patients she promised.
We will not be backing down as the Cultivation poses a potential catastrophic danger to the neighborhood and its residents
I saw the live video where he said a dispensary wasnt allowed in any part of our town. He said nothing about growing
Gary George Glatt he spoke about it on 2 separate lives
Gary George Glatt it’s not conventional farming, it’s actually, cultivation, manufacturing, processing and testing, so there is no zone for it in Brick, so still needs a variance.
Bruce Bayer correct, and the Mayor has spoken on more than one occasion about this and said there is no where in town that it is zoned which is why it was before zoning.
Who said they’re manufacturing, processing, and testing?
Gary George Glatt they did, and that’s how it’s done.
There’s no manufacturing going on in a growhouse. I don’t know what the fuck you think goes into growing bud but it ain’t rocket science or anything more than light, water and nutrients. they prune the plants too, just like any other crop. There’s no special processing that goes into it, you grow it, cut it and dry it. That’s it. They’re not cooking up crack or manufacturing pharmaceuticals
Jeff Bacon let them run with it lmao… This was a smart move by JSTH. Grow in Brick sell in an area open to it. The fear was all the druggies, traffic, criminals, robberies, kids, and home values declining. Now this eliminates those fears, but nooooo!? Lmao now its apocalyptic fires brought on by the strain on the local power grid bahahaha. I love it…
Go for it
Glenn Ehrhardt it will never happen, of it was possible she would have done ot along time ago
Stacey Churpakovich Collins anything’s possible
Glenn Ehrhardt hopefully she moves this to an appropriate location and help the patients she promised to
Stacey Churpakovich Collins this is a perfect location, it’s out of the way with little residence , centrally location in the state.
Glenn Ehrhardt this is not easily accessible for patients at all and it is not zoned to be in a residential area. If this was such a perfect location why did she throw in the towel on the dispensary ?♀️
Glenn Ehrhardt no it’s on a road that’s primarily residential housing.
Glenn Ehrhardt dam straight. Go for it. Almost 2/3rd the people in the state want legal weed and the more places the better
Tom DeFeo Jr. it’s coming to Brick. Just sit back and grab a snack.
Really? How do you think we farm today?
Jay Johnson certainly not the way a 48k Indoor Marijuana Cultivation Center does….I venture to guess your average fsrmer does not use those methods, nor the insane amount of electricity amongst other things
Jay Johnson
It’s an industrial operation, cult, manuf, packaging and testing, no zoning for it in Brick.
Bruce Bayer because weed have been illegal for 70 years. There are plenty of manufacturing commercial businesses. Spauldings
There’s cardinal siding counter top fabrication.
What do you think is involved that is a hazard to the environment or people
Jay Johnson not on Adamston Rd
Jay Johnson fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides , solvents. Compressed gasses, hi voltage. Big fire hazard too close to residences.
Bruce Bayer so ban weed from the entire town? That make sense. The state will be legal but let’s go against popular vote and keep it illegal in brick. Yet sell booze on every other corner
The nation will legalize in a few months. What then? The family town of brick becomes mormons. Such hypocricy is laughable.
The town let’s scarpellies son and daughter steal millions. But we cant have weed.
I know let’s fund a gang war with black market drug trade. Oops. We have been doing that for 79 years
Let’s kill our kids with opiods and heroin. Fucking brilliant.
Yall have shit for brains. Your chief is a drunk driver and the cops are popping adderall and using steroids but the devils lettuce is dangerous.
Weed is not grown with pesticides or fungicides. You realize ever other house In brick has a propane tank outside it. And every home depo sells solvents. Your reasoning is asinine.
Every paint store as well.
Bruce Bayer faulse narrative
Bruce Bayer there’s no pesticides or fungicides or any compressed gasses. I don’t know what the fuck you’re cooking up but it ain’t bud
You dildos are so fuckin ignorant. You look like you still trust the government and doctors for true information.
Hopefully her newly retained attorney has a working Pitney Bowes machine ??
Because its a wholesome family town
Kyle Shouldice those words blew me away! What mayor says that?
If its medical, why not dispense it at a pharmacy? Maybe because it really isn’t legal the way it is done in NJ.
What a shame for the people that could benefit from it . HEALTH.
Julie Kelliher it is a shame that an appropriate location was not chosen from the onset
There is no reason why they cannot. If they can obtain a MM card there are dispensaries in state for them to do their shopping or appoint a aregiver to do the shopping.
Harold Draken Yes that is correct. However from the Brick area the dispensary’s are hour north or hour south. Hard for some to drive the hour if they are sick. Shorter drive my help .
