On Friday, March 1st, 2019, the Toms River Police Department Special Enforcement Team executed a search warrant with TRPD Emergency Services Unit on 47 Walnut Street Apartment A7 in Toms River and a vehicle affiliated with this address.  These search warrants were the culmination of a month long investigation regarding heroin distribution within the township.  As a result of these search warrant executions officers seized approximately 48 bricks (2,400 wax folds) of heroin, over a half pound of marijuana with an estimated the street value of approximately $10,000.00 and approximately $700.00 in U.S. currency.

Officers charged Louis Stokes, 40 years of age, of 47 Walnut Street Apartment A7, Toms River, with possession of heroin, possession of over one half ounce of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of over 50 grams of marijuana, possession of marijuana over one ounce with the intent to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute CDS on School Property.  Additionally, Tosha Hester, 46 years of age, of 47 Walnut Street Apartment A7, Toms River, was charged with possession of marijuana over 50 grams, possession of over one ounce of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and possession with the intent to distribute CDS on School Property.

Louis Stokes is currently being held at Ocean County Jail awaiting a court appearance.  Tosha Hester was released on a summons pending a future court date.
