Should ambulances have to pay tolls? Some local legislators are planning on introducing a bill that would prohibit the South Jersey Transportation Authority from charging tolls to similar vehicles from Ocean County
The Authority operates the Atlantic City Expressway and they don’t charge emergency vehicles from the following counties: Atlantic, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem.

Ambulances charge an arm & a leg for transport. I think their companies can afford a couple bucks for tolls. ….
Some of these “companies” are municipal or even volunteer. There should definitely be an exemption for them.
Steve Ciangetti yes I agree with that. My gripe is w/ the commercial rigs. They charge thousands for a transport & should have to pay tolls.
So, special vehicles don’t pay, but jack it up for the regular folks to pay for it ?
How often does an Ocean County emergency crew end up on the ACE? ? Should all emergency vehicles get a free ride? Probably. Do politicians really need to waste time arguing over this? NOPE!
