BRICK – Construction on the new White Castle fast food restaurant in Brick Township is finally making headway at the Riverwalk Shopping Center. The restaurant is located near Investors Savings Bank and Outback Steakhouse.

While the opening date still remains to be set, passersby can see the building coming together, taking the familiar shape of the famous fast food burger chain.

Jersey Shore Online reported that the White Castle was approved back in 2017 by the township planning board. The application before the board dates back to 2013, when a preliminary plan was approved for the fast food restaurant to be located between the Outback Restaurant and Investors Bank, on the site of the former Lukoil Gas Station on Chambers Bridge Road.

The planning process was slowed down by cleanup from the former gas station at that location and issues with accommodating a driveway for both Investors Bank and White Castle, according to earlier reports.

Residents will soon see the restaurant open, with 60 seats and a drive through lane.

This White Castle location will be the third for Ocean County, with others already in Toms River and Lacey.
