TOMS RIVER – The Toms River First Aid Squad is coming together to help the Golembeski family after their house was destroyed by an accidental fire on Dec. 13, 2018. Support the family through this difficult time and join the squad for the TRFAS Winter Classic: Golembeski Family Charity Hockey Game on March 2, 2019 at the Winding River Ice Rink, 5-8 p.m.

Barbara Golembeski and her son Cole HerrNacker lost their home to a fire just two weeks before Christmas. Also living in the home were TRFAS members: Captain Alyssa Golembeski, Treasurer Christine Golembeski, President Ashley Hollingsworth, and Honorary member and squad Chaplain Patricia Golembeski.

According to the squad, the house “was a total loss.” These individuals made it out with just the clothes on their backs.

A GoFundMe was set up to help the family with expenses, which has raised over $10,000 so far. You can contribute at gf.me/u/ptdz8x. Despite these efforts, the cost of rebuilding after a tragedy like this is high.

The squad is hosting the TRFAS Winter Classic as their final fundraising effort. All proceeds will go directly to the Golembeski family to help offset costs associated with rebuilding their lives.

The event will feature a hockey game, a Chinese Auction, a 50/50 raffle, and a game of Super Score-O! Doors open at 5 p.m., pre-game ceremonies start at 5:45 p.m. and the puck will drop at 6 p.m.   Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under. You can purchase tickets at the door.
