Dan Inglis Sr., a life member of Lanoka Harbor Fire Station 61, has died, the fire station announced Tuesday night. Inglis served as president and held line officer positions up to the rank of captain.

The memorial after cremation will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Lanoka Harbor Firehouse, the fire station said. This will be a firefighters service, and all departments are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, the fire station requested donations in Inglis’s name to the American Cancer Society and Lanoka Harbor Firehouse.

“Dan along with his family took charge of many events for LHFD family members,” Lanoka Harbor Fire Station 61 wrote on Facebook. “You will not be forgotten, we are forever grateful for your service and friendship. May you rest in peace Dan. We got it from here Brother.”

His son, Daniel Inglis Jr., was a volunteer for Lanoka Harbor Fire Department and a police officer in Union City. Inglis Jr., 25, died a year after sustaining paralyzing injuries in a 2011 motor vehicle accident.
