On May 17th, 2018, around 10:29am Wall Township Police responded to a call reporting the discovery of a body wrapped in a part. They immediately called for assistance from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and a subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Mr. Edward Ramirez (51 of Brick, NJ).

A Monmouth County grand jury recently indicted Mr. Ramirez for unlawfully disturbing, moving of concealing the dead body of Jamie Leis (35) in the area of Brighton Avenue and Rockefeller Drive in Wall Township.

Ramirez currently faces up to 10 years in a New Jersey state prison if convicted.

The case is assigned to Assistant Prosecutor Joseph Cummings.

Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of the trial rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and State Law.
