Being a Police Officer is never an easy job, and every situation has the ability to escalate into something worse., That is just what happened today in the New Egypt area of Plumsted Township in Ocean County, NJ.

At 11:23 dispatch asked officers “Can you please head over to 3 carter lane, 30 year old male, breaking things inside the house, just stepped outside. no weapons or alcohol”

The call quickly escalated as there was mention of a weapon, that there was a gun in his hands, and then that he had ran to the back of the residence and jumped the fence into the woods.

Plumsted Township PD was quick to request the assistance of the Ocean County Regional SWAT team and subject Nicolas Markee was eventually taken into custody without injury to officers. In our opinion this act  was far from “without incident” as there was a multi-agency manhunt through the woods, that eventually turned into a house by house, knock and interview search for the suspect.

Criminal charges are still pending against Markee, and as of last we heard, no weapon had been found on his person at the time of his arrest/ when he was secured at the scene. The search for the weapons was ongoing.
