I say this as my daughter is one of those people they refer to. She died of an overdose just 2 weeks ago.
I can tell you it is not what she wanted. The pills she became a hooked on were prescribed for pain for a very long time. The when removed no treatment offered for my now addicted daughter. They quickly with the help of the local dealer are shown how cheap and readily available heroine is compared to HELP!
The comments I read are from people who lack basic human empathy and complete ignorance of addiction. It saddens my heart even more. They assume it’s a choice.

Assistance yea he got it but he was offered it a million times before !!! He wasn’t embarrassed they don’t know any embarrassment! I would love to see the report for every town in Ocean County. Maybe at that point we can all come together to do good old style school presentations on not to do drugs. Presentations to employers to share with their employees. We need people to step up and teach the obvious. Somewhere the lesson to not do drugs didn’t stick. I lost a friend of 30 years a few months ago to a drug overdose. She had a good job, good life. Nobody had a clue she started using. It was her choice to begin, nobody prescribed her anything, it was a choice that left her children motherless with no warning signs. We need to go back to basics. Just say… no! Teach it and preach it!
