Toms River: In a huge blow to open space, the TR Planning Board voted Wednesday night to issue variances for a new development off Brookside Drive in town. Craven Road is currently a dirt road with a few houses set back at the end. A developer presented a plan to turn the road into a paved road with 9 new houses where there is currently woods. Despite the objections by local residents, the planning board issued variances and the development will proceed as planned. Local residents objected due to the wildlife that lives in the woods, and concerns over flooding on Brookside Drive.
Stay tuned to OCSN as we bring you updates on this development once construction begins.

What a shame!!!!!
So what’s the point of having the public at the hearings if they don’t care about concerns???

Sounds kosher to me lol
I see what you did there ??
They just can’t leave anything alone
The property owners have been trying to get this built for 15 years and the residents have been fighting it over and over again. There is a reason for that, we don’t want it! We don’t live in big fancy houses. In our neighborhood we can look out the window and see deer walking around. The leaves in the fall are beautiful. The seclusion on Craven Road is the reason people live there. To get away from everything. And they’re going to take it all away to line their pockets. They don’t care about the residents in this neighborhood. The meeting was a joke and our environmental concerns were blatantly ignored.
was there ever a phase 1 assessment done on this property? it’s quite possible that there are endangered species here and you can still go to njdep and stop this.
I told Rhett to get out there and start looking for frogs
Kelley Bless I just sent you a message
Karen Godleski Torick

Stop building!!!!!!
Why don’t towns start making people buy the empty houses before letting any new land be developed there’s a crap load of vacant property more then ther are homeless people so it doesn’t make sense to build something on new land wen they can start taken over the run down houses and build something new there
I can’t wait for Ocean County to look like Essex County.
Nacho Mazzetta middletown is starting to look like Bergen county now. A 15 minute ride now takes you 30 minutes.
