TOMS RIVER – A Toms River man was today arrested and charged with the death of an 82-year-old woman.
Daniel Reed, 34, was charged with vehicular homicide in the death of Jean Divona on June 30, 2018.
Reed, driving his 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe southbound on New Hampshire Boulevard, failed to maintain his lane and struck a 2005 Toyota Camry driven by Divona. She was taken to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, where she died from injuries.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said that Reed was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River, where he was administered a blood test that showed he was impaired by fentanyl and morphine at the time of the crash.
He was arrested by Toms River Detectives at his township home this morning. He is being held at Ocean County Jail.

Who’s in charge of this site? Because if you don’t have all the fucking facts then stfu. It WAS an accident. An unfortunate accident. Don’t go judging someone without knowing that person personally. Smdh ?
Patricia Reed can you please explain how it was an accident if your son was under the influence of morphine and fentanyl?
Robyn Cherubini you were not present at the accident nor do you really know what transpired all you know is what you read which was not proven at this moment so please sit down and be quiet
I personally know Dan and he is a Hard working man as well as a good father to his children. This man would go out his way to help anyone who needs it. An accident is an accident. Ask media to provide facts before slandering this man on social media making him out to be a monster when he is not! Prayers to both families.
This is confusing. Fentanyl and Morphine?
Facts? He’s a drug addict who killed a woman. End of story.
Barbara Heimall facts your a troll that needs to mind your business. Again you only know what you read, you’ve not seen any facts proving these allegations.
Barbara Heimall no not always fact. News media tends to stretch or fabricate. So on that note goodbye
Bryanna Mendez actually I know a LOT more about the situation than I care to discuss publicly 🙂 Just because you think someone is overall a decent person, it doesn’t give them permission to drive high then kill someone. Accident or not, someone’s loved one is now dead because of this man’s selfish decisions and he will have to suffer the consequences. I wonder if you and his mother would be so forgiving if someone killed one of your loved ones driving under the influence. ???
For those of you pointing out that he’s a good, hardworking guy — that may very well be, but he also clearly had issues. Drug abuse doesn’t mean you’re a bad person, it means you’ve got a problem and need help. Those of you who are quick to judge, or quick to defend the man who’s such a good guy, might need to reconcile that fact in your hearts.
