BRICK – Township police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed the 7-Eleven store at the Route 70 interchange, telling the clerk he had a gun.

Police Sgt. James Kelly confirmed the incident happened Saturday, January 5th at around 4:33 a.m.

According to police, the unidentified man entered the store, proceeded to the drink cooler, grabbed a Snapple and approached he counter. Keeping his right arm concealed inside his jacket, he demanded money from the clerk, stating he had a gun.

The suspect grabbed money from the clerk and took off with an undisclosed amount of cash. He fled on foot out of the store. Police believe he got away in an awaiting vehicle.

The clerk was not harmed in the incident.

Police describe the suspect as light skinned black or Hispanic male, 5’09” to 5’10”, approximately 180lbs, full dark colored beard and mustache, wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, black wool skull cap, white t-shirt, white sneakers and a gold colored chain hanging out of hoodie.
