Brick Hospital (OMC) & Jersey Shore Medical Center (JSMC) are now on divert until 18:00. Brick keep extending theirs, and JSMC is likely full now from the overflow. We are running out of hospitals as it seems nobody wants to go to Comedy Medical.

That’s funny (probably a typo) “Comedy Medical Center”
Ginger Lenart Oliszewski it’s their thing to call it that, not a typo
Comedy Medical Center… If you’re not dying, we’re not trying! ?
Ocean Medical is no prize either…. I would drive to Jersey Shore from Toms River if I was having a medical emergency….
William Boyer Jr. Oh my ….I do get it !
I’ve never had a problem with the drs, nurses, orderlies, or ANYONE at community.
Never had a problem with Community, and have been in there 2 times for cardiac stents. Had great care.
Community’s ER is great at misdiagnosing. You’re better off staying home and using Web MD
CMC is good once you get to a room, and their Labor & Delivery is outstanding. Shame the ER is a shit show.
I had a doctor at Community tell me my (at the time) 5 year old daughter’s dizziness was due to a stomach ache and sent me home with zofran and dramamine. At urgent care days later we found out a NASTY ear infection had been stewing and she needed an ENT. She has permanent scarring in her inner ear and has had ear problems ever since. I put a negative review on their facebook page and the “director of emergency services” must have hunted down my phone number and attempted some blubbering damage control. Never again!
Last year I took my 9mth old there because she had choked on a little piece of plastic a few days before and I had a feeling she didn’t cough it out. The ER tried to send her home with a diagnosis of asthma even though she had no history of it and I had explained what happened with her choking a couple days before. I refused to leave, the next ER dr came in on shift change, listened to her lungs and transferred her by ambulance to Monmouth Medical….where she spent 2 days in the PICU and had to have surgery to remove the plastic that actually was in her lung. I’ll never go to Community again
My very good friends husband was killed by him / they insisted he was an alcoholic and told her he needed to dry out for five days, meanwhile it was his gallbladder. By the time she got someone to take her seriously, he was transferred to a different hospital, but it was too late. His other organs started shutting down, and he died. Community killed him 100%.
My husband almost died there last year. Went there for shortness of breath, etc. He had congestive heart failure due to a virus at 36 years old! They told him to drink a pitcher of water an hour without giving a diuretic! I know a lot about CHF myself. Even when he got to a room, the cardiologist didn’t know anything that we told him. I requested a transfer to JSUMC and he refused!! Finally got him to JSUMC and they even said if we waited any more he would have had cardiac arrest!! Thankfully I know people who work at JSUMC to get him the best care!
My neighbor is pregnant and started bleeding after a trip. They went to CMC and were told she had no fluid in the sac and sent her to Monmouth. Monmouth looked and said she was fine, it was just the way the baby was in the womb! ??♀️
Hubs and I have agreed that if we want each other to die that we would send each other to CMC. Otherwise, we’re taking our chances with a hospital further away from us!
7 years ago, I was 14 weeks pregnant and bleeding. Went to Community where they did an ultrasound and Dr told me the next few days would be critical and not sure if the baby would make it. They told me to be on bed rest and follow up with my obstetrician in 5 days.
While I was signing my discharge papers, I noticed the ultrasound report that clearly said “NO HEARTBEAT” in bold letters. The dr never read the report and was sending me home without telling me my baby passed away.
What’s Comedy Medical?

Flu season is really ramping up around here.
If you think you have the flu, go to an urgent care. They can prescribe the meds you need.
Now if you are having trouble breathing from the flu, take your ass immediately to the er.
Thinking you have the flu is not an er visit.
Jeanette Maarleveld people would be surprised what others think qualify as an er visit ?. I’ve literally had a code blue in the er one day, someone passed away. And some old lady was yelling at me causing a scene wondering when she’d be seen for her vomitting.
Just stay indoors people!! It’s the plague out there lol… has to be flu patients?
Jennifer Sherman people don’t know how to cover
Nancy Siegel huh? Lol
Oh their mouth … very true!!!!
thats really a sad concept that we have a hospital that no one wants to go to………….
Angela Carrera yes it is but they just aren’t good and no one really can’t get to the bottom of it. CMC is really only good to have a baby at. The reputation stinks for all other departments.
Kathy White Marrano I know!! my third son was born there 36 years ago and my grandchildren were also. but….I broke my ankle in 2000…I had the best surgeon. I really cannot complain. but..I don’t know. only what I hear. eeks
I just try to steer clear whenever possible.
Angela Carrera the radiation department is phenomenal!
Go to the Ocean County Library where Democrat Kim is there answering questions. Go ask him what he is going to do about this!
Go and toss eggs at him?
Kristy all hospitals full with sick . We need to all keep healthy!
Why is everyone bashing Community Medical Center so conveniently located on Route 37, less than 1 mile from two mortuaries and a crematorium.
Nicholas J. Guiliano ??
Haha Comedy Medical
I never had a problem at community nor my family
Robin Crouse-Wicks i agree. My family has had major surgeries there and ALWAYS got the best of care. The nurses are fabulous!
6 hours in the waiting room with my wife in congestive heart failure
Not the exam room the waiting Room.Never again
Robin Crouse-Wicks me either!
Is Flu season the reason why Ocean keeps being on divert? Or is it a combination of flu and accident patients? I’m surprised Kimball and Community aren’t also on divert too.
Usaully if ocean medical goes on divert it wont be long before jersey shore goes on divert. This happens every year during flu season, cause people use er like pcp (primary care), it happened alot last year. Also for what ever reason community medical, kimbel, and monmoth medical are last choices for people to go to, not sure why.
There like 3 urgent cares open till 8pm.
I hate the er. It’s a germ cesspool. You won’t see me in there with the kids unless it is an emergency.
I took my husband in like 3 weeks ago after an accident. Some one green goobered in the bathroom sink. Nasty…
My ER experience in Toms River was not great. And I do not use an ER ever. Probally used on 5 times in 60 plus years.
It takes a lot for a Barnabas facility to divert. They open additional units and bring staff in.
Robert Richardson monmouth is where neuros. want you to bring your kid now. No more JSMC. They request that you go to Monmouth
Takes a lot for JSMC to be that full. They are pretty big.
Jill Van Rooyen they hold on to patients too long if they have insurance you can’t get out alive.

Omg
CMC was packed yesterday. Wait was 4 1/2 hours. My stomach is paralyzed so sometimes they need to give me an IV and IV meds. Lots of serious problems! So many Critical patients that they were even in the minor areas.

Plus they keep closing them I am sure point pleasant hospital would been pretty helpful
Matthew Jung Just bc I know you LOVE community med center! ??
Bri Pezzie it’s the shining beacon of jersey’s finest. The president should get his medical care there. No, really. He should.
Who ever made this post..eat a dick… you’re not a nurse or doctor.. you have no idea how hard they work!! When you move out of your mom’s basement and put in the hours and care they do please ‘re post…
What kind of basement dwelling cocksucker would post something like this? Sad part is if you dropped to the ground with a heart attack in that area the same people that you bash would have to save your sorry ass! Do us all a favor and take a bath with a toaster you scumbag.
Geeze feels like community is all that’s left.
My personal opinion. And personal experience….I will never go to community again if can be helped …
I am speaking of the ER ….its a nightmare again in my past experience…not saying there are not good doctors or nurses for I’m sure there are but..the ER in general needs to get there shit together!!! A few years back I was taken back and waited behind the curtain for hours ..I could barely move my head in such pain and bleeding non stop…then a nurse bumped me through the curtin after hours and I mean HOURS! No one realized I was even there ( and they put me there)
After another almost 2 hours I latterly dragged myself out covered in blood …it was bad and had someone pick me up for I could not drive …I called the next day …flipped..
I said I better NOT see a bill ! And never did ….that was one of 3 horrible experiences at community…..
8 years ago ..I had a heart attack at the age of 43 ( no not on drugs!) I asked were they were taking me …I said turn around I’m NOT going there ….I was scared enough to begin with ….
Never an issue at CMC. I’ve had a number of surgeries there. ER staff work very hard to take excellent care of patients.
Community maternity ward was good, but their er is terrible. I brought my daughter her pediatrician and surgeon both wanted her admitted on iv antibiotics. I kept telling them she had pnuemonia do an xray but nope they did neither thing. The sent her home no meds no nothing. Turned out she had pnuemonia.
Dez Nuse completely agree
These ers are full because most have no health insurance so they cant be seen at urgent care and wont wait for a drs visit
