JACKSON – Two vehicles were stolen from the driveway of a Cobain Road home Dec. 30.
Jackson Township Police Officer Brian Baranyay responded to the residence at 7:52 a.m. The vehicles—a 2019 GMC SUV and 2017 KIA—were unlocked and their keys stored in center consoles.
Surveillance footage from a home camera showed the suspect, which matched the description of footage caught at a Tuscany Drive home, where two hooded subjects also entered an unsecured car.
OnStar was used to locate the GMC, which was recovered in Hillside and impounded for further investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Jackson Police at 732-928-1111.

That’s awful but we lock our stuff! Plus we live in a safe neighborhood minus SWAT every now and then!

People still leave their cars unlocked? And have upgraded to leaving the keys inside too ?♀️
Shayla Wardell most newer cars have key fobs not really a key so they leave them in the car and just hit the start button…not too smart smh
My car has the same feature, push to start. I just leave it in my purse so I know it’s there. The car does not lock if the key is inside, I’m guessing to deter people from doing this exact thing so their cars are not stolen.
Dummies. Sorry leave it unlocked with keys in it in today’s world oh well
