Tonight, December 12th, 2018 was a happy day in Lacey Township. The Lacey Township Board of Adjustments has decided to reverse it’s denial, and has approved all the necessary permits to rebuild the iconic Tavern on route 9 after the massive fire that raged this summer.

This past September, Caffrey’s requested a zoning permit to be able to re-build in place using the existing structure, but zoning officers were quick to deny the permit. During an informal meeting with Caffrey’s shortly after, Caffrey’s was told they would have to rebuild away from their original location.

But according to Sipe Adjustment Group, inc it was a standing room only crowd full of Caffrey’s supporters that were greeted with news that the Board of Adjustments was reversing it’s denial. Reports on facebook have stated that the room erupted with cheers at the news.

While doing research for this story, it came to our attention that Caffrey’s already had plans to open up an outdoor bar to help service the area before their main bar was open. Will both projects break ground at the same time now that they have cleared this hurdle?
