A radio host has come under fire for criticizing a proposed change to a law that now not only fines motorists, but would put points on their licenses.
The proposed change to the law, which would not only keep the $100-$500 fine, would penalize violators with two points on their licenses.
Those changes are being co-sponsored by State Sens. Vin Gopal and Jim Holzapfel and assembly members Eric Houghtaling, Joann Downey and Gregory McGuckin.

What radio host?
Marina Rebmann Judi Franco of 101.5
There anger bc there the assholes who probably dont move over.
She’s your stereotypical bigot. I can’t stand her.
Points are uncalled for. Just more money for insurance companies. If you can’t move over slow down. What is so hard about that people. Save a life.
Ellen Fass more money out of their pockets is the only thing people understand
Kathy Strack agree bigger fine for ticket. Not more money, for insurance insurance company. Makes for more driving uninsured and causes us to pay more
tell that to the family of the young man killed on 287 while preparing to tow a car a few months ago…..by a driver who refused to slow down or move over.
Kelley Bless I get it. My husband was a police officer who died in the lone of duty. I’d rather see them do time then have insurance companies make money and us who have to pay more for uninsured drivers
Unfortunately this isn’t the first time this year that Denis and Judi have been in trouble because of on air or written comments
she’s obnoxiously annoying. I can’t stand her and don’t listen to that show because of her.
I’m just shocked, shocked, I tell you!
That individual is simply awful.
If you can move over you do, but you can’t always move over if there is traffic or cars too close. This state is a rip-off with the points and insurance surcharges, and let’s stop having the cops pull their cars all wAy on An angle edging Into traffic, it juSt creates another thing to avoid. Maybe wait to pull someone over where there is adequate room to do it.

If you can’t move over you slow down, that’s all the law is. Pretty simple to do.
Are you for real? Lets penalize the police for putting the tip of their cars into the travel lane. The whole point is to protect them and those they have pulled over or are in vehicle distress. You must be one of those dummies who drive obnoxious speeds in the right lanes while talking on your cellphone and texting. Pretty soon you will says it s ridiculous to have to stop for buses picking up children. If you paying attention to the road its easy enough to slow down to a safe speed if you cant switch lanes when coming on an emergency vehicle…
People cant really grasp reading things properly..It says move over if safe to do so..if not safe slow down..its really pretty simple, and if you cant follow simple directions like this, then you shouldn’t be able to drive.
the law is not just for cops. i have lost count of the near misses and mirror hits my boys have had while on tow service.
gee what ya kno a new town money grab and ass fuck at the same time
when does it get any better !!! ???
go say that to the family of the young man who was killed on 287 a few months ago while hooking a tow.
As a first responder that has to go on 195 occasionally, it’s the scariest thing we do, it’d be great if ppl did it on their own accord but a few have been killed already and a lot of drivers are selfish and/or clueless
Thank you for your service.
Maybe stop predatory ticketing in high speed areas?
I welcome anyone opposed to this law to stand on the side of a highway as cars fly by you at 80mph while trying to do your job and see how you feel.
I was hit by a car working construction on Rt 33 in Howell , The moron went right through the barrier that was set and hit me at a high rate of speed. I almost lost my leg and broke my back in two places. There was more then enough traffic warnings and visible signs to let this idiot know to slow down.
This is kind of a bullshit law. Yes it protects the police and first responders however puts everyone else in danger. Sometimes it’s not probable to move over. When I was visiting my parents near Buffalo NY a couple years ago. A cop had someone pulled over on a 2 lane highway on a bend. I drove past and the second cop on that stop pulled me over because I didn’t move over….into ONCOMING TRAFFIC. there was absolutely no lane for me to move over to except into the lane going against traffic. I gave that cop an ear full and he let me go. Sorry but it’s a massively stupid law. As long as the pigs in blue are okay. Fuck everyone else
Josh your probably the first person to call the police when you need them and can’t protect yourself.,Your just sour because it sounds like you drive like an asshole……It’s just crazy how lawbreakers hate the law
More should be done if you dont move over for any lights.
she’s a dumbass anyway that noisey voice ughh
I agree. And you can tell by Dennis’s voice hes like omg shut up.
The state pba should boycott 101.5 and also DO NOT let them at this years polar bear plunge!
Those with close ties to lakewood could care less about highway safety
i’d love to put that talk show host on a tow truck for one friday or saturday night.
I think the move over law is great, it’s a shame it has to be an issue at all. We should be moving over for the men and women out there risking their lives everyday.
Unless if your an Illegal Immigrant. You won’t get points, they’ll just subtract points ??♂️
Looks like Judi might be getting some tickets lol
Maybe she should start using Uber.
Yea, passing another useless law will help.
If you can’t move over all you have to do is slow down and proceed with caution. It’s not rocket science. If I can reach your jalopy, you’re too fucking close to me
Judy Franco should go stand on the side of a highway or better yet in the middle of it
I always say if I can reach out and knock on your window you are way too close for comfort.
