Eighteen people, ages six months to 59 years old, have confirmed cases of measles, according to the Ocean County Health Department.
Six more people are suspected to have the disease as of Nov. 30. Those numbers are based on rash outbreaks that occurred between Oct. 17 and Nov. 24.
The Department continues to encourage families to vaccinate children who have been exposed to someone with measles.

Christopher Joseph you are so wrong. the major problem now is not that they are unvaccinated. the major problem now is that they, the hassid, are refusing point blank to quarantine once exposed. they are claiming that it is anti-semitism and religious discrimination for them to have to quarantine…regardless of the fact that it has been accepted medical practice for decades to control disease. the man who brought it in from israel KNEW he had it. traveled anyhow….and then proceeded to expose hundreds more people by refusing to stay home once he got here. the jackass who went to motor vehicle was told hours before in the er that he had it…went anyway. and hey guess what? every non-hassid that was exposed…who is susceptable for one reason or another…that i know of ….has VOLUNTARILY quarantined. it’s not singling out a religion, it is singling out a behavior by a group of people (whose descriptor happens to be a religion…hasidic..it could just as easily be an ethnic or job or other description) that is unacceptable. that spreading a controllable disease by refusing to follow accepted medical practice is not ok…and they’re using religion as a weapon to enable them to do that.

Barbara Shedaker i do know that if you had a measles shot before 1977 or maybe even later it can wear off i found this out when i gave birth and was no longer immune so as soon as i gave birth i had to receive the shot again

Most people have immunity after getting the measles but some people do get it more than once. Rare, but not impossible.
the people most at risk are those with compromised immune systems….auto immune diseases, chemo, hiv, are the big ones. even if they had it as a child their immune systems might not make the antibody..and even revaccination won’t help them, and might harm them. add that people in this category measles can kill them and you have the whole picture.
