MANAHAWKIN – A Manahawkin man was charged with strangulation without consent and malicious assault after biting part of a man’s ear off during a struggle in Morgantown, West Virginia, according to a MetroNews report.
On October 2, Dean Schrantz of Manahawkin reportedly bit the man’s ear and attempted to strangle him while at University Place on the West Virginia University campus.
Upon arrival, West Virginia University Police found the victim in a kitchen, bleeding from his ear, surrounded by blood stains on the walls and floor. The bitten piece of the ear was in a bag on ice, the police statement read.
MetroNews reported that a fight between the victim and Schrantz ended with a headlock which knocked the victim unconscious. When the victim woke up, he was bleeding from his ear and part of his ear was missing.
The victim’s girlfriend reportedly witnessed Schrantz bite the victim’s ear.
Schrantz was arraigned and released on $20,000 bond. He is facing up to five years in prison and up to $2,500 in fines for his charges.
I’m glad the strangulation without consent was clarified. Otherwise, it would probably be a completely different story lol.
Haha I was thinking the same thing!?
I was thinking the same thing, why would someone give consent to be strangled?
