Clearly what we are doing isn’t working.
What are we supposed to do? Junkies gonna do their thing ?
If I had the answers, I’d run for office. I can tell you that we are losing the war in drugs in every front.
Our governement needs to stop having our troops protect opium feilds for starters.
Jessica Bates i believe that has started.. but fentanyl is coming from china.
Ocean County Scanner News there’s no such thing as the “war on drugs” that’s a term from the 60s
Did he live I hope
Yes, went to OMC.
Ocean County Scanner News good!?
Every store store should have Narcan and a defib on hand as this is an epidemic now..
Everyone walking around is going to be a healthcare provider. It’s totally out of control. ?
No they shouldn’t. People should just not do drugs. ??♀️ stop enabling these people!!!
Laura Skii Exactly!!!! It’s not my responsibility to carry narcan for junkies who CHOOSE to shoot that shit into their veins then get narcaned and they just repeat with no consequences whatsoever.
Yeah
“JUST SAY NO” worked so well for Nancy Reagan
SMH at these ignorant comments
Or just get your life together?♂️
Well how about we walk around with epi pens instead of narcan. Their choice why save them??? An epi pen is more important than narcan but they won’t give that away
then every store should have Epipens and insulin for people who didnt choose to have allergies or Diabetes…
So gross. ? stay the fuck home and do whatever you want. So rude.
That’s why these junkies feed their so called “Disease” in public, so they get a free back to life card aka narcan so they can go out and do it again!
Patrick Brennan it’s rude and gross. It’s horrible that there is a possibility children might see this in public. Just so disgusting and selfish. ???
Patrick Brennan idiot
Laura Skii agree 100%
Donna Fusilli Hack ? enabler
Patrick Brennan you know her judge?
Stop the narcan train
We have so many to go through for September still.
Really. WTF?
Erin Leigh
The reports never stop. We can’t even keep up with residential calls anymore. Now we usually publish the ones that happen in public just to take a shortcut. It is still REALLY bad out there, despite them trying to hide it more.
Yeah, how many people died since then? Not to be insensitive but it’s old news already. The problem is is that they force these pharmacies to sell needles to these junkies and then they OD either in the bathroom or in the parking lot. It isn’t fair to the people that work in these places to deal with this crap on a daily basis. People are dropping like flies from the crap going around now. Is Hep C really that much of a concern? There is just so many elements of the whole thing that are frustrating.
Erin Leigh
You are spot on, but nobody in charge wants to tackle this problem. We keep putting band aids on the wound, while innocent families suffer hourly.
We lost my boyfriends childhood best friend this summer. I cried more than once today because I still can’t believe he is gone and I miss him so much but none of this is helping. Dealers need to be held accountable for these deaths. They need to be kept off the streets. And I understood our friends using because it had been going on for a long time before all of this bad crap became such an issue. Once you are hooked it isn’t easy to break but what the hell is wrong with these people that keep starting up even when they know what is going on? IMO they are making a conscious decision that they might not make it when they use. That is their decision to make and I don’t think everyone should be chasing after them to keep giving them more chances. And especially not with this BS with school children having to learn how to administer NARCAN. They don’t required kids to learn CPR or the Heimlich maneuver but they are talking about this?? Do these people have any idea how damaging and dangerous putting kids in that position is? Mind blown, seriously.
Erin Leigh
Thank you for sharing. To sit down and understand how intertwined this whole epidemic stretches; will blow your mind.
Why dont you post detox and rehab resources with any OD post? Try to make a difference because obviously mocking and labeling doesnt work. Doesnt matter disease, not disease, lets just stop this effin cycle. Have a great day.
Terry Raymond Eisenbrey
Detox isn’t working; go look at our 5-page police report spreadsheet for the facility.
Dave Lansing having known junkies back in the 70 s who r now 6ft under … detox n rehab only works if the individual WANTS HELP!!
Okay I have a really radical thought. Doesn’t it only hurt people to outlaw certain drugs? The ones that are legal are controlled and regulated. I’m not saying the government does that so well, but at least when someone gets something FDA regulated, it contains what it claims it does, and comes with warnings. The ones that are illegal, create a whole black market. They can vary in quality. They create no economic benefit.
Smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol both kill. Many of us do those things regardless. Some in moderation, some without self-control. I’m just saying.
Legalized pure regulated heroin for sale?
I don’t know. All I’m saying is pretty much what I said. It’s hard to unthink it now that I’ve had the thought.
Like, you know how some drugs you can buy yourself, but limited quantities? What’s that, cold pills or something?
The stuff with epfedrine i think in it because of meth could u imagine if meth was here it would be worse then heroine
I imagine, if meth were legal and regulated and sold in stores/dispensaries/pharmacies, it would probably be as bad as alcoholism already is, except not as deep in the shadows of society.
Steph VanPelt and I’m sure that people will not duplicate it on the street and sell it cheaper or abuse what they buy legally either right
Zef Baz, your sarcasm is noted but not needed. I’m sure they would. But wouldn’t there be less of an illegal market for something available through legal channels? With consistent quality? It’s like, I could buy bootleg liquor, but I don’t. The stuff from the store tastes better and I don’t have to worry about hiding. Or being poisoned because it’s not actually liquor in the bottle.
Anyway, thank you for your comment. I’m interested in open, intelligent dialogue.
Steph VanPelt it doesn’t really work that way forever. Maybe for most but the small percentage that are going to engage in it still are. It’s happening in Colorado with marijuana and people buying black market and not heavily taxed weed. They also buy k2 and things that aren’t good for then and cause adverse effects
Steph VanPelt the argument is kind of pointless anyway because heroin which was the original point is not meant to be consumed. It’s the result of failed policy and medical infastructure.
Well… I mean if we really study the history of opium, that’s debatable in many ways, but I don’t expect you to engage in a debate that you think is pointless.
I can see the harm and the loss incurred from prohibition of drugs. And I can see where the gain lies, too.
Hopefully, I live a long time and get to have more conversations about things like this. Meaningful, impactful conversations! ?
It was Russell Schoemer. Ate too many hot ham n cheeses
Costco should start stocking Narcan
Tax Dollars at work…Hopefully the Toyota was taken away..So he wont kill someone else
Denise Falone Ferriolo unfortunately they cant take it christie made a law if u overdose there is no charges if there is drug paraphernalia or not because to many people were letting their friends die of overdoses so if u od u can not be charged with anything
