The details on NJ’s latest attempt at legalizing marijuana has marked the first time ever that NJ did not try to over-tax a new industry in the state. Previous attempts allowed for 15% or even 25% state tax to users over 21 years of age. However according to Politico New Jersey, Gov. Phil Murphy is not happy with this lower tax attempt.

While many places that have legalized marijuana, the only place to consume the product is privately in your own home, NJ seems to be taking the approach that consumption spaces (possibly like bars and liquor licenses?) should be considered and licensed also.
